A Plea to Our Contributors...Take a moment to consider those veterans and their families who are homeless and currently going without warmth and food. These are the same folks who came to our need and served as guardians when our country was threatened on September 11th, 2001, and served in Vietnam, Korea, and World War II. It is unimaginable to have our soldiers and their families homeless in a country they have pledged to defend with their lives, but it is indeed a dreadful reality. Please help us bring an end to this suffering by making a contribution to the Friends of Veterans. Support our goal to bring an end to the homelessness amongst our veterans and their families and enable them to live the life that they so richly deserve… Friends of Veterans 222 Holiday Drive, Suite 4 White River Junction, VT 05001

Some History...The Friends of Veterans (FOV) is a non-profit organization, a member of the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans and a proud community-based service partner in a nationwide network of assistance programs for the prevention of homelessness amongst our nation’s veterans. Our mission is to provide aid to veterans and their families who are in financial distress and homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The FOV was established approximately 23 years ago with a list of services that included “helping hand assistance” with firewood, household repairs, providing food, blankets, clothing. With a budge of less than $1,000.00 the service list was very limited. In addition the FOV maintained the goal of becoming the leading organization for advocating for homelessness prevention. The staff and board members of our organization are 100% volunteers, a majority (90%) of whom are also veterans. That same spirit which started the Friends of Veterans 23 years ago still exist today. Our mission and vision remains the same and the staff is still 100% volunteer. In light of all they have sacrificed for America, the thought of our veterans and their families going without food, being cold due to the lack of proper clothing or a source of heat, forced to resort to living in the woods in tents or makeshift shelters, is unacceptable. The volunteers at the Friends of Veterans advocate for change and make every effort to prevent homelessness amongst our veterans and their families |
