About the FOV...

Who are the “Friends
of Veterans?”

We are veterans of honorable service from all branches of our military, our National Guard and our Reserves who are devoted to meeting the needs of our homeless veterans or veterans who are at risk of becoming homeless.  All of our members devote their time and effort on a volunteer basis in order to ensure that all funds received may go directly to meet the needs of veterans and their families.

Who are the “Friends
of Veterans?”

The staff at the Friends of Veterans work very hard to bring an end to homelessness for all the men and women who have served this country in its time of need.

The Mission Statement for our organization is as follows:

"The Friends of Veterans is an organization created by veterans dedicated to helping fellow veterans and their families avoid homelessness. Our compassionate efforts fill a void in current services by providing confidential, rapid response to veterans’ needs."

Our Vision Statement:

We envision a future in which Friends of Veterans is leading the field in advocating to improve the lives of veterans and to end homelessness among veterans and their families.

Volunteer Programs

The Friends of Veterans is 100% volunteer; staff, Board members, committees, etc. We are very proud of the fact that 100% of all funding received goes towards providing services to our homeless veterans and their families.

The Friends of Veterans' organization appreciates and truly values its volunteers. We have a series of volunteer programs, some short term while others are more on going in nature.

If you would like to take part in this rewarding experience, please go to the Volunteer Page  in this website to learn more details about the current volunteer opportunities.

That same spirit which started the Friends of Veterans 24 years ago still exist today. Our mission and vision remains the same and the staff and Board of Directors are still 100% volunteer. In light of all they have sacrificed for America, the thought of our veterans and their families going without food, being cold due to the lack of proper clothing or a source of heat, forced to resort to living in the woods in tents or makeshift shelters, is unacceptable. The volunteers at the Friends of Veterans advocate for change and make every effort to prevent homelessness amongst our veterans and their families.
